These Little Piggies

Baby wild boars are going hog wild at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers. Although they are an invasive species (perhaps brought in by Conquistador Hernan Cortes), crowds have been cooing over the piglets. The state estimates there are 1 million feral pigs in Florida – more per square mile than any other state. If you want, you can see these pigs at the slough, and hope they don’t make it into your backyard.

What else you you see at the slough?

Baby alligators
Full-size alligators
Great egrets and other birds
Pileated woodpeckers
Ibises
